IES Autumn Lecture Series: Belgian EU Presidency and Europe 2020

Belgian EU Presidency and Europe 2020

The main focus of the lectures will be the newly launched Europe 2020 Strategy, one of the main priorities for the Belgian Presidency of the European Union.  The lectures will address the various aspects involved in the Strategy, such as sustainable development, climate change, energy efficiency, digital agenda, research and innovation and employment.  The aim of the lectures is to bring together academics and policy makers directly involved in the above mentioned topics to debate the practical steps to be taken in implementing the Strategy.  The overarching theme to be addressed is the role of the Belgian Presidency in initiating and setting the course for its implementation.

This lecture series are jointly organized by the Institute for European Studies (IES), and the Belgian Federal Parliament.

Prominent experts, policy makers and opinion leaders will address these questions and series of lectures aimed at students, scholars, policy makers and the general public.

We look forward to your attendance and active participation in the lectures.
