A 46th generation of our LLM and 16th generation of our EuroMaster students have successfully finished their studies at the Institute for European Studies. They celebrated this milestone in their lives during two 2017-18 graduation ceremonies, which were elevated by particularly inspiring speeches from two IES alumni who shared their views on ‘life after the programme’ and emphasized the importance of the IES alumni network.

In her speech during the first ceremony, DG Just Director General and LLM alumna Tiina Astola urged our graduates to keep an open mind and pointed out the importance of a healthy work-life balance in their future careers. Moreover, she shared her own experience of how a particular subject matter or line of work that may seem dull or boring at the time of graduation, may gradually turn into a passion at a later stage in life.

At the second ceremony, Yoana Ilieva, Parliamentary Assistant at the European Parliament and EuroMaster alumna, offered her audience 3 themes and stories that, together, allowed her to connect the dots to make her (European) dream come true:  1) Never stop learning and exploring; 2) Follow your intuition; 3) The power of identity. She concluded by emphasizing the importance of human exchange in a multicultural environment and of building a vivid human network to boost your career.

Congratulations to all our graduates for this great achievement and best of luck in their future endeavours!
