VUB and University of Warwick launch first joint PhD call in context of EUTOPIA

The VUB and the University of Warwick (UoW) have launched a joint PhD programme, in which 2 PhD fellowships are available to enable young and promising researchers to be jointly supervised by academics from both universities. The PhD candidate is expected to spend at least 12 months in each institution. The fellowships will start between October 2019 and January 2020.

This joint PhD programme is one of the first concrete outcomes of the enhanced collaboration between VUB/IES and UoW, following the memoranda that were signed last year to create the university network EUTOPIA. It will support high-quality PhD projects in the initial priority areas identified by VUB and UoW. These are Social Sciences (e.g. criminology, law and privacy, communication and political sciences, sociology and international collaboration), Complexity Science (including photonics) and Reproductive Medicine. Successful candidates will enter into an agreement governing the joint supervision of their PhD with Warwick and VUB.

A single application form should be submitted to by midnight on 29th May 2019 (GMT).
