Jean Monnet Summer School kicks off with engaging sessions on EU Policy Making

On 3 July, we were delighted to welcome a group of students to the start of our Jean Monnet Summer School on EU Policy Making.

Following a warm welcome breakfast and introduction, the students engaged in various activities on Day 1. These included an opening lecture by BSoG President Karel De Gucht, providing insights into the current state of the EU. Additionally, there was a Simulation Exercise on EU Policy Making, allowing the students to actively participate and immerse themselves in the subject matter. To further enrich their understanding, Prof. Jamal Shahin delivered a comprehensive lecture on the European Commission.

Furthermore, the Summer School students had the privilege of attending a keynote lecture by Rémy Bonny, the Executive Director of Forbidden Colours, where he discussed LGBTIQ+ equality policy.

We wish our students an exciting and inspiring two weeks in Brussels and Vienna. During this time, they will delve into the topic of civil rights in today's EU and have the opportunity to explore both the historic and contemporary centres of European diplomacy.
