Visiting Fellow and PhD Researcher


Young-in Lee joined the IES in October 2019 as a Visiting Fellow conducting research on the cultural policy of the EU. Young-in is International Relations Official of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA), which is part of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea. She joined MMCA in 2011, and has been in charge of international project initiatives and cooperation with institutions abroad. Previously, she worked as Managing Editor at the National Museum of Korea and as Head of Program Team at the Busan International Film Festival.

Young-in obtained a M.A. in Critical Studies from the School of Cinema-Television of the University of Southern California. Since 2020, she has been on the joint PhD program between the IES-VUB and the Graduate School of International and Area Studies of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. Her doctoral research focuses on soft power and the cultural diplomacy of South Korea.
